Mental health is still something of a taboo subject, yet at any one time, one in six people in the UK has a common mental health problem such as an anxiety disorder or depression, whilst one in 100 has a severe mental illness, such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.
We focus our attention and support on the small steps that lead to a fulfilling and independent future for people with complex mental health illness. We have a wealth of expertise and experience in delivering the right level of individual support and therapy that is fundamental in achieving rewarding outcomes.
Our approach is focused on the needs of the individual and maximising their independence as soon as possible. It is our goal that each person we support can live in the least restrictive and lowest cost environment whilst continuing to be able to access on-going support and the therapeutic engagement of a full multidisciplinary team.

Approximately 1.4 million people in the UK have a learning disability. A learning disability affects the way a person learns and deals with things in all areas of life, such as developing skills, understanding complex information, managing money and interacting with others.
People with a learning disability often find it difficult to cope on their own with day-to-day tasks and may need support to develop the skills they need to live independently.
This level of support depends on the severity of an individual’s learning disability. Many people with a mild learning disability are able to live on their own and may only require community support to thrive. However, those with a severe or profound learning disability could require full time nursing and intensive care throughout their lives. They could also be living with a physical disability.
Living with a learning disability
Most individuals with a learning disability are treated ‘differently’ to the rest of society. They have to face prejudice and challenges on a daily basis, and may find it difficult to access services and have the control over their lives that most of us take for granted.
With our support, most people with a learning disability can enjoy meaningful, independent and fulfilling lives. In addition to full time care, we provide residential support, as well as transitional services for people taking the step into supported living.
With Hospiva Care’s help, people with learning disabilities have the opportunity to live their lives as they choose.
Each person’s needs are different; some are self-sufficient, with the capacity to make their own decisions and live a semi-independent life, whilst others require continuous care and support. We want our service users – whatever their abilities or challenges – to get involved and become part of their wider community. This provides them with the best opportunities to lead an independent life, enabling them to experience everything their community has to offer, whether this is attending college, following interests and hobbies or simply meeting new people and making friends.
Young people and adults are supported as they access the local community, find employment or education, and develop friendships, with the aim of gradually reducing the level of support and building independence skills, including travel training and assessing risk.
Our core values are to respect, support and promote the dignity, rights and self-determination of each person. Our community support is an integral part of our service, with staff enabling, empowering and supporting them as they live life as a valuable member of society.
Hospiva Care aims is to ensure the care and support provided is tailored to fit each individuals needs so that you can remain independent and you are able to make your own choices within your home environment by providing you with the appropriate level of care that best suits you.
Our Care Management Team can carry out your risk assessment in English, in many more languages which would help tailor your care package to best suit your needs.
How does it work?
- You benefit from a one to one carer that will assist with your, domestic chores, personal care, medication and your day to day tasks.
- It allows you to stay in your home and maintain your daily routine.
- You won’t have to face the emotional and physical disruption of your daily living by moving into a residential care home.
- Our live in carers can provide you with companionship – someone to talk to or to play cards with.
Who is Live in care for?
You may be frail or require more care input throughout the day, or have the tendency to wander around when left on your own, Live in care is your better option to moving into a care home as you wish to remain in your own home, in the same environment you have been for years, moving out seems too hard to handle on top of everything else.
Live in care is for you! After all there is no place like home.
